Since the NT restricts divorced and remarried believers from the church offices, we recommend the same standards be upheld in our assemblies, except when the divorce occurred prior to conversion or for the scriptural causes of a former spouse's marital unfaithfulness or the abandonment of the believer by the unbeliever (pg. 133).
