1. How would you characterize IDEO's human-centered innovation culture, process, and philosophy? What are the core elements? IDEO's human-centered design-based approach helps businesses, government institutions, and other organizations grow and evolve, allowing customers to solve problems with innovative solutions. The design-based approach's core idea is to show empathy for the end user by putting yourself in their shoes and understanding their pain areas and unmet wants. This design-based method is a multi-layer problem-solving process in which user interfaces are tailored to the users rather of pushing them to fit into the interface. IDEO's organizational culture is characterized by a flat structure in which employees are given autonomy for creativity and cooperation rather than permanent job designations. The six core elements of human centered design-based approach are Observation, Ideation, Prototyping, User feedback, Iteration and Implementation. The first step is observation where user needs and expectations are understood before solving a problem. After observation the second step is ideation where ideas are brainstormed with the team members based on the results of Observation. The third step is prototyping a prototype is said to be built based on the idea which the team came up. The fourth step is feedback, the prototype is taken to the users to get their feedback. The fifth step is iteration, after getting the feedback the product is said to be modified based on the feedback until the team feels they have hit the nail on the head. The last step is implementing the product, the product is said to be build tested and launched. 3. What do you learn from this customer that the team might use as it re-imagines the movie-going experience? The client uses his cell phone to look for various cinemas and movies available in various cinema theatres, he also uses the You Tube application to look at the trailers. For this, the take away is that one can design an app that integrates movie searches and movie trailers in one. A user can select movie by watching the movie trailer on the app itself and book a movie immediately without having the need to leave the app. Also, based on the user habits, one can introduce features where the user would get automatic notifications about the movie and cinema tickets availability. The subject also brought up the reality that everyone's interests in movies are diverse. He prefers films with solid plots to his father's sci-fi action films and avoids comedies. Other
