  1. See the situation as we do
  2. Feel the situation in the same way as we do
  3. Think about the situation as we do
  4. Understand the message as we understand. Assumptions:

Jargon means technical terms which are specific to any industry , process or operations. Use of jargons might not be understandable by common people. So use of jargon might make a communication bad. Example:

  1. eTelling:- Internet Retelling

Physiological Barriers are related to human body or physical state. It could be related to communication barrier due to Poor Health , Low Eye Sight , Hearing Difficulties , Stammering problem etc. Example:

  1. Poor eye sight might cause reading problem
  2. Stammering during Interview may be a big barrier to communication Physiological Barriers:

The physical barriers like background noise , poor lighting , unstable temperature etc. might affect in communication and could make it bad. Example:

  1. Background noise could prevent you from listening.
  2. Too high or too cold temperature might shift our focus from communication. Physical Barriers:

Over communication means giving too much information on any topic that makes the receiver confused and the meaning of the message might not be clear. Example: If somebody asks for any information and if we give too much information and that might confuse him/her. Over Communication:

Some people have the tendency to form a judgment before listening to the entire message. This is known as premature evaluation. Even before the communication is complete, some people start reacting to it and frame their judgment and replies. Premature evaluation distorts understandings and acts as a barrier to effective communication. Premature Evaluation:

 When a message is received by a person after it has passed through many people, generally it loses some of its truth. This is called loss by transmission.  This happens normally in case of oral communication.  According to one estimate, with each transfer of oral communication the loss of the information amounts to nearly 30%.  This happens because of the carelessness of people. Loss by Transmission:

 Each communication must be transmitted through an appropriate medium as its nature  An unsuitable medium one of the biggest barriers to communication Example :

  • If any manager wants to communicate with others for confidential matter than he/she opts for written communication via Email as compared to other medium of communication
  • If any Organization wants to reach to masses then they might chose Internet and Television as medium of Advertisement rather than other mediums Medium Barrier:
