Q1. (a) A Full Adder is a circuit that adds two binary numbers and accepts an input carry. For a Full Adder circuit: i. Draw the Truth Table. [5 marks] ii. Design a logic circuit to implement a Full Adder. [5 marks] iii. Verify the operation of the logic circuit using a Truth Table. [5 marks] (b) With the aid of a Karnaugh map reduce the following switching function to its simplest form.
Q2 (a) Describe the principle of operation of a Strain Gauge and Wheatstone Bridge [10 Marks]
(b) Figure 1 shows a circuit that will illuminate when the force on the Strain Gauge is excessive. For the given values calculate the voltage at Pin 5. Does the LED illuminate? [15 Marks]
