Cell theory: All living organisms are composed of cells. Cells are the basic unit of life. DNA: Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is the genetic material that controls the growth, development, and reproduction of living organisms. Evolution: All living organisms have evolved over time from a common ancestor. This process occurs through natural selection, which favors traits that are better suited for survival and reproduction. Homeostasis: Living organisms maintain a stable internal environment despite changes in their external environment. This is accomplished through various physiological mechanisms. Energy: Living organisms require energy to carry out life processes, including growth, movement, and reproduction. Energy is obtained through the consumption of food or
through photosynthesis in plants. Classification: Living organisms are classified into di erent groups based on their characteristics. This system of classification is known as taxonomy. Ecology: The study of the relationship between living organisms and their environment is known as ecology. This includes topics such as population dynamics, nutrient cycling, and ecosystem functioning. Biotechnology: Biotechnology is the application of biological knowledge to the development of products and technologies. Examples include genetic engineering, biofuels, and pharmaceuticals. Genetics: Genetics is the study of how traits are passed from one generation to the next. This includes the study of genes, chromosomes, and inheritance patterns.
