BBA GROUP B SEMESTER 6 2017-

 LACK OF DISTRACTION Before the evolution of technology, humans were more focused on their goals, we were more productive due to lack of distractions, we were composed to be of creative nature due to lack of luxury of information, life was slow, the competition was small due to lack of communication gap among people and business. The communication was not so fast and destructive and it was not viral.  PEACE OF MIND Many people show off money, pride, reputation in society, power of position, luxury in communications, etc. The truth is absent in communication. I am not saying it was not the same before, but today it’s more prevalent in communication due to technology. The rich-poor, good and bad, right or wrong, best and worst comparison communication through images, videos, group meetings, and debates are affecting the peace of mind.  EMOTIONS OF PEOPLE Love and emotions are absent from communication. People just forward the content. The communication is manipulative. Society selects the leaders based on popularity and not on principle and merit. Now, these things are reducing the love, trust, and emotions of good people. Today we are ready to communicate with almost anyone, and many of us do not have time to communicate because we are busy in our own lives and problems. We don’t have time for others without meaning (money, reputation).  LACK OF INTEGRITY AND TRUST Communication has massively affected interpersonal communication between two people. Today, due to technology more and more people want to speak, they want to share their thoughts and knowledge. It’s not bad, but the problem is that only 1 person is listening and thousands of people are speaking. So the communication is not from leader to follower, but the message and communication are spread from the crowd to followers.

Q2) HOW DOES POPULAR CULTURE IMPACT OUR VERBAL COMMUNICATION? WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES? POPULAR CULTURE Culture is the whole complex of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual, and emotional features that characterize a society or social group. It includes not only arts and letters, but also modes of life, the fundamental rights of the human being, value systems, traditions, and beliefs. The main ingredients of cultures consist of sets of values, norms, attitudes, beliefs, and basic assumptions. These are reflected in our communication behavior, art, music, myths, movies, fashion, architecture, advertising, literature, sports, language, etc. IMPACT Communication is an essential part of daily life of every individual. Without proper communication our ideas and views cannot be informed to others. Different factors influence the communication process. Some of them are culture, language…etc. Cultural differences of the people in a group/team affect effective communication among them both positively and negatively. The culture has a significant influence on the communication process. The cultural differences can create conflicts and misunderstanding between parties involved in the communication process. Culture has often been defined in simplistic terms as life-style of people of a community. But culture means much more; it encompasses various attitudinal and behavioral dimensions such as values, beliefs, expectations, norms, etc. All these make culture a complex thing to understand and has drawn the attention of researchers to study the various dimensions of culture and its impact on the people living within that culture. Within a culture there may be various sub-cultures on the basis of ethnic groups, religious groups, professions, etc., and differences exist among them. Many studies by behavioral scientists prove that all the people who belong to a particular culture have similarity in their thinking and behavior. Culture differs from one group to another and these differences can affect the level of trust and openness in communication that one can achieve with people of other cultures. Therefore the cultural difference should be properly understood in order to ensure an effective communication.
