CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
In business, quantitative research is the systematic empirical investigation of
observable phenomena via statistical, mathematical or computational techniques. Quantitative
research is the tool to calculate the measurable things to this research it also helps the researcher
or the reader to better understand how quantitative works.
Business refers to the organized efforts and activities of individuals to produce and sell
goods and services for income. Businesses can range from small operations operating in one
industry to large operations operating in many industries around the world, According to
Thomas Dicksee (2005), "Business refers to a form of activity conducted with an objective of
earning profits for the benefit of those on whose behalf the activity is conducted."
Quantitative is rooted in numerical approaches. The emphasis is on objectivity and the
use of statistics or data gathered through polls, questionnaires or surveys with quantitative
research methods, numerical data are gathered and then generalized across groups of people to
explain trends or phenomena. These methods begin from questions such as how many how
often” “when?” and “where?”
This chapter presents the background of the problem, its significance, and the scope and
delimitation of the study.

INTRODUCTION

The main problem of this study is to know or to identify the income evaluation and how it affects the sales of a kwek-kwek vendor, this study may use some quantitative techniques like a survey papers and evaluation of the total income from the vendor.

Alternative Hypothesis

The theory on this research is if the sales is really affected by the income or it is just because of the ingredient that bought expensively because in making a kwek-kwek the vendor needs a large investment so the vendor can run a growing business.

Statement of the problem

This study aims to make people understand how “kwek-kwek” vendors made their sales and how they fairly price the product based on their daily or monthly income.

  1. How the income affect the price of “kwek-kwek”?
  2. What are the problems facing by the vendor/s financially?
  3. Why the vendors are still selling even their profit is insufficient?

Importance of the study

The importance of this study is to identify or evaluate the natural income of a “Kwek- kwek “ vendor and the impact on its sales, and how they equally divide the income from capital to income. This study will be benefit of the following: The Students may use this for their own research paper to find ideas and to know more about the quantitative research in business. The Consumers can also use this for their knowledge about small businesses it can be an idea to them to start a business. And last the Future Researchers, this research may help them to reach more ideas to their research papers and also help them from the struggle in building of topic. Scope and Delimitations of the study This study mainly concerned to the seller or vendor of the said “Kwek-kwek” in Phase 4 Bulihan Silang, Cavite, if their profit has an impact to their sales.
