Currently 49,000 households (with 100,000 persons) are sampled twice per year Surveys are administered by the U.S. Census Bureau on behalf of the Bureau of Justice Statistics (in the U.S. Department of Justice) TERM 5
DEFINITION 5 These data are collected by researchers who survey people who may have violated the criminal law. Respondents are asked whether they have committed various offenses. These data are not collected using a uniform research protocol.
