A. Background of The Problem There are many literature works in this world that can describe concept of love, anxiety, and happiness of the author’s life or representative human life today, every literature work has purpose and meaning that the authors want to tell to the reader. One of them is I Still Love You published by Jenny Han after she released a new book in 2014 called To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Han was born and grew up in Richmond, Virginia and her has one younger sister. After high school, Han went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and later she earned her MFA in creative writing at the New School, where she met fellow Young Adult novelists, Morgan Matson, and Siobhan Vivian, the latter of which she would go on to cowrite the Burn for Burn Series with. Han currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. Jenny Han wrote her first published book, Shug , while she was in college. Shug is about Annemarie Wilcox, a twelve-year-old trying to navigate the perils of junior high school. Her next project was a trilogy for young adults about a girl's coming of age during summers. The trilogy, which includes The Summer I Turned Pretty , It's Not Summer Without You and We'll Always Have Summer , quickly became a New York Times bestseller In 2011, Han began working on a new young adult series with fellow writer Siobhan Vivian about three high school girls who begin a mission to exact revenge on people who wronged them. She released a new book in 2014 called To All the Boys I've Loved Before , about Lara Jean Song Covey, a half-Korean high school girl whose life turns upside down when the letters she's written to all the boys she's had crushes on get sent out. Han embarked on a national book tour for To All the Boys I've Loved Before. The sequel, P.S. I Still Love You , was released on May 26, 2015 and was met with another national book tour. Additionally, the book won the Young Adult 2015- 2016 Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. (kubikelromance.com/2015/10) The novel tells about a girl named Lara Jean who falls in love with Peter, Initially Lara Jean dating Peter to prove to Josh if he did not have the feeling again on his ex-girlfriend, while Peter himself wants to prove to Genevieve that she was able to move on after they broke up. But who would have thought that a relationship that had been pretending to be a reality, they falls in love. Lara Jean still
compares his relationship with Genevieve. Lara Jean should not have compared the relationship to one another, she always thought that Peter still has feelings for his former best friend, she was always suspicious when Peter get a message or a phone call from someone. And then Lara Jean recieved a letter from John Ambrose McClaren, one of the five people she sent a love letter. Lara Jean never imagined that the letter is in the hands of John. They eventually exchanging letters, Lara Jean pleased to be associated with John again, and besides, she also wants to occasionally Peter jealous with her, not only did he find the feeling. When a young man from the past suddenly comes back into her life, a spark that never he felt back in. Can a girl falls in love with two guys at once? The reason why the writer chooses this novel is the characters of this novel are very representative of teen life today which a lot cases that do research with psychology of literature without knowing the risks of what they are doing also this novel has a conflict on interest to be discussed.
