Discussion:

-The melting point of the substrate was 147 ℃ which was very close to the literature melting point

150-152 ℃ , this indicate how pure our sample was.

  • The % yield we got was 72,37% which was close to the expected % yield which was 76%, this also indicate that they were no so many impurities and how much I was delicate with my product that I did not leave a lot behind when I was filtering or recrystallizing. -The reaction did turn dark purple as expected when I was heating it for 15 min after adding KOH, which indicate how expensive our substrate might have been.
