Classroom Communication Plan Teacher Websites and Google Classroom: Teachers has a website which can be found by going to the school’s website. Teachers may post updated class news, events, homework assignments, and resources on their websites. Many teachers host online Google Classrooms. Students can log in to these virtual classrooms to access assignments, resources, etc. Teacher google sites and google classroom are two of the strongest tools for classroom to home communication. This allows parents into the classroom to see the topics and assignments students are working on. I also embed my google calendar with due dates of assignment and assessments that is linked to google classroom on my website. This way parents have access to this calendar anywhere and anytime. One of the biggest benefits of using all three google tool is that once you give an assignment on google classroom a due date it automatically links it to the class calendar. PowerSchool Portal: Secondary school students and parents can access grades and attendance information through the PowerSchool Portal on the Internet. Usernames and passwords are sent to each family. More information can be found on the district and school websites. Even though PowerSchool is not a google tool I find it to be a very good communication tool for students and parents.
