3. Explain the differences or similarities between Dallas and London for the different dates.
Include the concepts of seasons, equinoxes, and different solstices in your answer.
Both Dallas and London are located in the Northern Hemisphere so they will have similar
amounts of daylight overall .
On March 21, Dallas and London will receive almost similar daylight because of the spring
equinox.
On June 21 the northern hemisphere will be experiencing summer solstice and the Tropic of
Cancer will receive direct sunlight, the North Pole will receive 24-hour daylight therefore London
which is closer to the North Pole will receive more day light than Dallas both will experience the
summer season.
On September 21, Dallas and London will receive almost similar daylight because of the
Autumn equinox.
On December 21 the northern hemisphere will be experiencing winter solstice and the Tropic of
capricorn will receive direct sunlight. The north pole will be 24 hours dark, with no sunlight
during the winter solstice. Therefore London will receive less sunlight than Dallas as London is
closer to the North Pole than Dallas. Both London and Dallas will experience the winter season.
