D) Complexity:
a) Before answering the prompt, a couple issues must be addressed. Since
historical spaces once occupied by ancient elites are what is being
considered, we must address the complexities of how these historical spaces
may not reflect the common population of these ancient societies which may
impede the understanding of the societies. We must also consider how
opening these spaces may lead to physical degradation, which would
severely lessen the possibility of studying societies and culture. One last
complexity is understanding how different guides and signage may affect
public perception and understanding of historical societies and culture.
