Excretion is the process by which every organism removes the waste products from their body. These waste materials are collected due to the functioning of the body and the body cells. These waste products are carries by blood from all the parts of the body to the excretory system of humans. These waste products are toxic and hence, are needed to be removed from the body.
The excretory system removes waste from the body. Kidneys are the main organs of excretion. Humans usually have two kidneys. Kidneys are bean-shaped organs. They are located on either side of the backbone. The kidneys filter blood continuously. Urine is formed in the kidneys.
Functions of each part: Kidney- There are 2 kidneys in a human body. It is the filtering organ of the excretory system. It takes the blood into continuous channels and filters the waste products from the blood. At last in kidney, the useful products are dissolved back into the blood and blood is sent back. Ureters- These are the 2 pipe like structure each joining from one kidney which connects kidney and urinary bladder. After the waste products are filtered they are sent through ureters from kidney to urinary bladder. Urinary Bladder- It is the bag like structure connected from kidney through ureters. It stores the urine received from the ureters and passes out the urine when it gets full through urethra.
Urethra- Urethra is the ending portion of the urinary bladder which is a bit thinner from urinary bladder. It performs the function of passing out the urine from the urinary bladder.
What is excretion? Name the main organs of the human excretory system. What is the function of the kidneys? What is urine? What are ureters? What is the function of the urinary bladder? What is the role of the urethra? What is a nephron? Why is excretion important for the human body? Draw and label the human excretory system.
The human excretory system is very important because it removes waste materials and extra water from the body. It helps keep the body clean, balanced, and healthy. The kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra all work together to perform this function.
