Activity Three April 12th/13th 10 points
Due: Before Monday, April 19th OR Tuesday, April 20th
Remember: You have a quiz over Excel concepts on April 19th/ 20th
The intent of this activity is to learn more about MS Excel and creating charts.
1. Open the file you created for activity 2.
2. Save your file as “Act3_lab section number_ last name” in your Home memory in
ONID and remember to save your file frequently.
3. Use some of the data you have in this file and create a column chart. Save the chart as
a new sheet labeled Chart1.
4. Use another part of the data you have in this file and create a pie chart with a 3-D
visual effect, showing the legend. Use data labels, display the category names, and
use a number format appropriate for the type of data (you may not need to do
anything, such as commas, depending on the size of your numbers). Save this chart as
a new sheet labeled Chart2.
5. Use another part of the data you have in this file and create a chart of your selection.
Save this chart as a new sheet labeled Chart3.
6. Add a title to your charts.
7. Modify your charts' Axes and Legends so they will better explain the variables (you
already did this to your pie chart in 4 above). Add a Y-axis title to your column chart.
8. Enhance the look of your column chart by changing the fonts and color of the titles
(chart and axis), and apply a data pattern to the data series.
9. On your pie chart, explode a slice of the pie. Elevate and rotate the pie chart.
10. Depending on the type of chart you chose in 5 above, enhance the look of this chart.
11. Save this file. You will need it for activity 4.
12. Submit this activity like you did with activities 1 and 2.
