Assignment # 2
Computing in medical physics
PLANAR IMAGING:
Planar imaging is also called projection imaging or planar projection is a method of
scanning in which the data is collected simultaneously from an entire layer. Most of the images which are produced by
x-rays are planar images. It represents a projection through the body. Planar images are the two dimensional images.
most of the parts of the body (chest, axial, Skelton, breast ) are properly scanned by planar imaging [1].
TYPES OF PLANER IMAGING:
Echo planar imaging.
X-rays planar imaging.
MRI planar imaging.
CT scan planar imaging.
NON PLANAR IMAGING:
Those imaging which are three dimensional or more called non planar imaging.
In this type of imaging source & detector are rotated around the patient and takes images at all angles. Non planar
image of systole is given below.
