CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK
Constructive feedback refers to providing someone with a critique on their performance,
which could assist them in improving their abilities and developing excellent conduct. Even
when providing negative comments, constructive criticism does not appear disrespectful.
Accepting constructive feedback in a good manner is a critical component of learning and
developing in day-to-day life. It has really aided me in developing my abilities to achieve
better results at work and in class. During the first week of my tenure at the JW Marriott
New Delhi, I started handling defence organizations as a portfolio for Sales & Marketing.
After joining me for a few meetings, the director of sales & marketing gave me a feedback
that I explained the major technological advancements of the hotel in guest safety &
security, established a favorable impression of the hotel in the client's mind. I ensured doing
the same in future meetings, and it really helped in closing some critical business for the
hotel.
Some tips to provide constructive feedback would be –
State observations before sharing the feedback
Show some empathy
Avoid doing it in an open forum
Balance the negative & positive feedbacks
Guide the person with personal experiences
