CREATIVE

WRITING

What is WRITING?

▪ "Writing" is the process of using

symbols (letters of the alphabet,

punctuation and spaces) to

communicate thoughts and ideas in

a readable form.

▪ The activity or skill of marking

coherent words on paper and

composing text.

  • Writing is a medium of human

communication that represents

language and emotion through the

inscription or recording of signs and

symbols

  • "Writing" can also refer to the work/

career of an author

What is WRITING?

Concretization

of sentences is

an important

part of writing,

just like laying

the foundation

for a house

construction

The writer must first “think” in the

language that he or she is writing.

The beginning of writing may

appear a waterloo.

Creativity is always involved in

writing.

CREATIVITY?

CREATIVITY

-is a phenomenon whereby

something new and

somehow valuable is

formed.

CREATIVE WRITING

Creative writing is any form

of writing which is written with

the creativity of mind: fiction writing ,

poetry writing , creative nonfiction wr

iting and more.

The purpose is to express something,

whether it be feelings, thoughts, or

emotions.

“It’s not

creative

unless it

sells.”

David Ogilvy, an

advertising guru

“Creativity is

the WHOLE

Important aspects of

creativity:

by: Gemino H. Abad

1.The creative process is illustrated

by internal signs and one of them

is the fact that you can write

anything creatively on anything at

your best if you are “possessed”

by words and meaning, and by the

power of the “language”, the

power of “thinking” as well as the

power of “imagination”

  1. There is a matter of

“attitude” toward one’s own

work, plus the “metal

discipline” to get everything

right and push one to write.

  1. The language. It can be of any

language in the world. You can

write in language that you are most

comfortable with.

  1. Each writer has a “point of view”

or what we call a “personal

conviction”. Points of view are

obsessions, agreements, or

disagreements among writers. One

can write depending on the “mood”

of the writer.

DIFFERENCES:

Technical Writing

 When it comes to technical

writing, the sole purpose of it is

to inform a reader and

sometimes trigger them into

taking action which would be

beneficial towards the writer.

Creative Writing

▪ Creative writing's purpose is to

both entertain as well as

educate. The majority of us

enjoy reading interesting stories

and novels, not necessarily

because they're helpful to use

but because we get a certain

feeling of pleasure from reading

them and this is the type of

pleasure that you can not get

from reading technical writing.
