How do I size the taskbar? - Position the mouse pointer over the top line until it changes to a two-arrow line - Drag the mouse until it reaches the desired size 3. 19. How do I format a floppy disk? - Note: Many new floppy disks are preformatted. Formatting will erase the contents of the disk. - Place the disk to be formatted in the floppy disk drive - Double-click My Computer to access the My Computer window - Click the desired drive—usually A: - Click File - Click Format to access the Format dialog box - Click the appropriate radio button to indicate the type of format desired - Click the storage capacity of the floppy disk—usually 1.44 MB - Click Start to begin the formatting process - Note: A formatting progress gauge will display during the process - Click Close after the process is completed

How do I defrag the hard disk? - Note: The hard disk should be defragged periodically—about once a month—to improve performance of your computer. You should not attempt to use your computer during the process. - Click Start - Click Programs - Click Accessories - Click System Tools - Click Disk Defragmenter to access the Select Drive dialog box - Click the drive that you want to defrag—such as Drive C - Click OK to begin the defrag process and access the Defragmenting Drive window which shows the progress of the defragmentation process. Note: This process may take a few minutes or longer depending on the size of the disk - Click Pause to temporarily stop the process. Click Resume to restart the process. - A dialog box will appear when the process is completed. Click Yes to close the Disk Defragmenter box. 23. How do I cleanup the disk to remove unnecessary files to free disk space? - Note: The following files are removed during the process: temporary internet files stored on your computer for quick viewing, downloaded program files that were transferred to your computer when you view some Web pages, Recycle Bin files, and Temporary files. - Click Start
