I. Objectives
After the lesson, students are able to

- Ss can recognise about the importance of the skills needed for being independent
- Recognize the structure of a conversation

-Ss can use some vocabulary related to the topic “skills for becoming independent” to talk about the imporance of skills needed
for being independent through making conversations
2. Competences:
-Talk about the importance of the skills needed for being independent by using topic-related words and phrases
-Actively speaking and respond in pair work, group work and receive feedback from others after their own sharing/presentation
32. Attributes:
-Widening their knowledge of important skills for being an independent person through reading news and books, participating
in extracurricular activities…etc.

  • Ss can recognize the topic: Skills to become independent. Ngô Thanh Nhài: Tốc độ nói vừa phải, giọng to, rõ ràng, hướng dẫn dễ hiểu, ngữ pháp tốt, tự tin Nội dung video chứa quá nhiều thông tin, nhiều từ mới, nhiều cụm từ khó Input không phù hợp với hoạt động warm-up  HĐ thiếu hấp dẫn Một số câu hỏi nằm ngoài nội dung video. Giải pháp: không xem video nữa, chỉ cần hỏi các câu hỏi đơn giản như “Are you an independent person? …. Do you rely too much on other people?” và liên hệ với thực tế học sinh để dẫn vào bài: What skills do we need to become independent?
  • T shows video about “5 Signs You're An Independent Person”
  • After watching, T has some questions for Ss

    • reason), cho hs nhìn qua một lượt để giới thiệu hoạt động trước khi dạy từ (ví dụ gv có thể nói “in Skill column, there are 7 skills we need to become independent, and in Reason column, there are reasons why these skills are important)
  • T shows the two columns and underline some new words/ phrases
  • T shows the flashcards and includes the corresponding phrase to teach new words
  • T reads the phrases aloud and asks all students to repeat.
  • T asks Ss to write down in their notebook
  • T gives instructions on how to do the task and does one as an example. (1 matches with d: Finding information is important because it helps you think independently and make informed decisions)
  • T asks Ss to work in pairs, and do matching exercise
  • When they finish, T checks their answers and gives feedback.
