PROJECT IDEA: SMART CARD
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
We observed that the cards we use in our daily life (credit cards, debit cards etc) are not much
secure, neither they identify nor they hold a variety of data. These cards also doesn't support the
integrity of data stored. The answer to all these problem was ‘SMART CARD.
The microchips the smart cards contain are individually encrypted , and the data they store is only
accessible using a secure key. That makes the smart cards a good choice for storing highly
confidential data and sensitive information. Smart cards are also capable of storing a wide
variety of data types in a wide variety of formats. This added flexibility makes smart cards a
good choice for high volumes of data storage. The information stored on a smart card cannot be
erased, deleted or altered. Smart card technology is also safe against electronic interference and
magnets. That makes them secure the integrity of data .
Smart cards are next generation technology! It has a small embedded microprocessor which
gives them ability to store and process much more data than credit cards with much more
efficiency and they provide enhanced security and identification capabilities.
TARGETTED PROBLEMS:
1. Personal Identification
2. Authentication
3. Security
4. Data storage
5. Encryption
6. Efficiency
7. Data integrity
