Review:

“Up” is a wonderful film which has such believable characters as any character must be. They are cute in the human way of animation. There are two main characters, where one is a cranky old man Carl Fredrickson while the other is a cute and goofy little explorer kid named Russell.

Up signifies that it is not necessary for the heroes to be young and sweet. This movie is a wonder in this youth-obsessed era. Here in the movie, characters do face tempers, problems and obsessions but they are optimistic enough to go through the hurdles and reach their goals.

Moral lessons from the movie Up:

Don’t put your dreams on your shelf for some day:

In the movie Carl and Ellie have a dream to go to Paradise falls, a land lost in time, South America. Like so many people, life gets in the way due to which their dream gets put on the back burner and then one day it’s too late. Ellie dies and Carl not only faces the loss of his love but also his dream a commitment to Ellie that they would one day go to live in paradise falls

Have a separate emergency fund:

When saving money for your dreams it is important to have separate emergency fund which will act as a shield. So when ever any emergency happens you don’t have to any of your investments or savings for your dreams.

As in the movie Carl and Ellie saved a paradise falls fund but they face different hurdles like car tire breaks then Carl got an accident and third tree falls on the house due to which they had to break the paradise funds.

True love can last life time:

Q-3) Write character sketches of Mr. Frederickson and Russell?

Mr. Fredrickson:

Carl Frederickson is a slender 78 years old man having both white hair and eyebrows. His head is shaped like a square and wears thick black spectacles around big round nose. His wears dark brown coat with white shirt and a black bowtie, light brown pants and shoes, belt and a bottle cap.

As a boy his personality is Shy and quiet while as an old man he is cranky, funny, kind, grumpy, loving, grandfatherly, brave and hotheaded. He is a Balloon salesman but he is extraordinarily Explorer and Adventurer. He wants to take his house to the paradise falls, South America as he has made a promise to his late wife Ellie.

He abandons his grief and starts acting like a father figure to Russell. Overall he is kind hearted as well as dislikes being annoyed.

Russell:

Russell is a small, obese black hair scout whose costume is full of badges. He is brave, kind, funny and fun loving, optimistic and hopeful. He is junior wilderness explorer who is later promoted to senior. He likes to help others no matter what. He has minor survival skills.
