REFLECTION 4 : Improving Classroom Instruction
IMPROVING CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION
The best way to improve classroom instruction is through the definite method of
procedure by school head supervision and it is the most effectively improving classroom
teaching. I believe the school head should have the following for his/her teachers:
1. Personal conference I think through this method the supervisor or a principal
should offer encouragement and offerings while having a post-conference to the
teachers. Through this method it will easily identify problems and provide suitable
solutions constructively.
2. Teaching the class it will help a lot because the supervisor may act or
demonstrated how the teacher should perform the methods.
3. Having teacher visits other teachers the main purpose of this method I think is
to see what are the other possible good teaching practices that the teacher can adopt
or modify within his class.
4. By improving classroom management - I believe that this method is one of the
good practices that the supervisor should apply to his/her teachers. In this method
the supervisor can modified program or change in time schedule, assigning each
subject, arrangement of periods and study periods. The supervisor should assist
teachers in planning lessons and reports of teaching.
5. Contact with leaners I ponder that with this method the supervisor should also
prepared by the supervisor to influence teachers methods and motivate work on the
part of learners. Reading learners papers, questioning class and encourage school
exhibits and competitions
To improve classroom instruction good supervisory plan is necessary to ensure the
implementation. Through direct assistance to teachers, curriculum development, professional
development, group development, and action research, a supervisor/school head can guide
and lead his /her school along the road to instructional excellence.
