Environmental problems in the modern world
Man imagines beating nature to the fullest extent of the days of his experience. As human
civilization became more complex, the state of ecology on our planet also rapidly
deteriorated.
The gene pool is rapidly deteriorating. For several centuries now, the number of plant and
animal species has been inexorably declining at a rapid rate. We have already lost about
nine hundred thousand species, and this figure continues to grow.
Deforestation. Deforestation is happening all over the planet, even affecting parks and
protected areas, which are the main supplier of oxygen on the planet. Acid rain, caused by
various enterprises, mostly metallurgical production, also causes considerable harm to
flora.
Air pollution has not spared any country. Everywhere there are industrial enterprises,0
harmful emissions that poison the air, and exhaust gases from transport. At the same time,
processed products from enterprises released into the air can spread over long distances.
Soil pollution occurs regularly through the disposal of waste in the ground. Moreover, not
only by enterprises, but also by ordinary people. Waste, which is rapidly increasing in
volume, is often used as fertilizer for growing fruits and vegetables, the benefits of which
are extremely doubtful. Various fertilizers used in agriculture cause no less harm to the
soil, not to mention special pesticides.
Water pollution. Industrial waste also harms rivers, lakes and other bodies of water. In
many areas of the planet, water is undrinkable. Every year, more than 26 million tons enter
the world's oceans. petroleum products, a huge amount of non-degradable substances,
products of the chemical and military industries. Which in turn affects marine life.
