Embracing Moral Freedom: Reflections on My Personal
Christian Journey
As a young person navigating the complexities of the world, my
relationship with Jesus Christ has evolved and deepened over the years. He
is not just a historical figure or a distant deity, but a living presence in my
life. Jesus, to me, is a source of guidance, hope, and inspiration. He is the
embodiment of love, compassion, and forgiveness. In my daily life, I strive to
follow His teachings, seeking to be a better person by emulating His kindness
and selflessness. My faith in Jesus serves as my moral compass, helping me
make choices that align with His teachings, even when faced with the
challenges and temptations of the modern world.
One aspect of my Christian journey that has profoundly impacted me is
the study of the lives of saints, and one particular saint who holds a special
place in my heart is Saint Francis of Assisi. Saint Francis's life is a remarkable
reflection of the life of Jesus. Like Jesus, he embraced a life of poverty and
simplicity, renouncing worldly possessions to focus on spiritual growth and
service to others. His commitment to the marginalized and his deep
connection with nature mirror Jesus's teachings of love for all, especially the
poor and the outcasts.
Saint Francis's famous prayer, the Prayer of Saint Francis, is a
testament to his desire to be an instrument of peace, just as Jesus called us
to be peacemakers. This prayer encapsulates the essence of his life,
emphasizing selflessness, love, and humility. By following in the footsteps of
Saint Francis, I strive to live a life that reflects the values and virtues Jesus
taught. I believe that in embracing the qualities of humility, service, and
compassion that both Jesus and Saint Francis exemplify, I can find moral
freedom in my Christian journey. In a world often marked by moral ambiguity
and shifting values, I have found strength and guidance in my relationship
