Alliteration Two or more words in a sentence that start with the same letter or sound.

The green grass grew.

Fact A statement that is true. It is the year 2019.

Opinion When you share your own personal viewpoint.

I prefer carrots to peas.

Rhetorical question

When you ask a question that does not require an answer, it is meant to encourage your reader/audience to reflect.

How would you feel if you were in their position?

Repetition When you repeat a word or phrase. Don’t do that again. I said don’t!

Emotive Language

Words that create or show emotion. Terrified, ecstatic, livid.

Statistics When you use percentages or fractions to make a point.
