    • Steps to Checking Out Successfully (without getting charged)
      • You have 24 hours after your last final to check out
        • You must email the building supervisor if you fall under the following circumstances
          • Graduating seniors – you have the option to check out the Sunday following Finals Week by 12pm
          • Summer school students – you have the option to stay in your current space until your summer space becomes vacant and ready for your arrival
        • Please contact your building supervisor with any questions or extension requests
      • Step One
        • Set up a checkout appointment with your CM at least 24 hours in advance
          • If your CM is not available at your desired check out time, your CM will help to get another CM to cover the time slot you are requesting, or you will just have to pick a different time
        • Failure to sign up 24 hours in advance will result in an improper check out fee
        • Sign up for an appointment that you know you will be able to keep and be sure to have^ all of your belongings completely moved out and your space/suite cleaned by that appointment time
        • If something comes up and you cannot make your appointment, please let you CM know as soon as possible
        • Missing your schedules checkout, failing to be ready by your appointment, or failing to notify your CM 24 hours in advance will result in an improper check out fee (Improper Checkouts can accumulate)
      • Step Two
        • Upon checkout, your CM will check your room to be sure it meets our standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
        • These standards include
          • Move out^ all of^ your personal belongings
            • Everything except university-issued furniture must be out of your room before your CM will check you out
          • Clean your room
            • Floor dusted/mopped/vacuumed (please do not throw dirt in the hallway)
            • Take out the trash, this will save you money!
          • Check^ all of^ your dresser and desk drawers to make sure you have everything
          • Wipe off all surfaces
            • Desk and dresser drawers wiped clean, bookshelf, desk and dresser tops wiped down

    • Junk mail and magazines will not be forwarded
  • No trash in the hallways
  • All trash, including carpet and unwanted furniture, needs to be take outside to the closest dumpster
  • Do not put your personal trash in the kitchen or common area trash bins
  • Residents, and potentially the entire breezeway, will be charged if trash is sitting in the breezeways
  • Commons reasons for charges

  • Unclean bathroom (shower, toilet, floor, sink)
  • You are responsible for all damages in your individual room and charges will be split for shared spaces unless one roommate takes full responsibility at the time of your checkout. Be sure to discuss damages with roommates before your checkout

  • It is your responsibility to find the equipment to clean your room, please plan accordingly

    • Continue to talk with your residents about the topics and resources discussed on the Bulletin Board
    • At community meetings and other interactions, feel free to mention your new bulletin board. You

should be proud of your work and want your residents to see it.

  • Let your residents know they can ask you any questions they have about the information displayed
  • Periodically check your board to make sure it is still in good condition. Report any vandalism you

encounter.
