For Candidates Applying for Entry to the Faculty of Education.
Surname or Family Name
First or Given Name
Western Student ID

The Faculty of Education at Western University is strongly committed to equity, diversity and
inclusivity in all that we do. One of the ways that we do this is through recruiting and supporting
applicants to our teacher education (B.Ed.) program who reflect the diversity of the student population
in Ontario schools.
For a designated number of places in the B.Ed. program, preference will be given to members of First
Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples, and those disadvantaged and discriminated because of their race,
religion, gender, sexuality, socio-economic status, ability and/or other factors identified by the
applicants. Those who apply for equity admission will be considered both under the general admission
and the equity admission processes.
Completion of this application is entirely voluntary. To be considered under the equity admission
process, applicants need to provide a sufficiently detailed explanation of their experience and personal
circumstances as they relate to systemic barriers in education and life and the reasons they should be
considered for admission to the teacher education program. The applications will be reviewed by the
Equity Committee at the Faculty of Education, Western University.
First Nations, Inuit and Métis applicants are encouraged to self-identify through the Aboriginal Access
Category on the TEAS application form.
To be Considered for Equity Admission please provide the following information
a) Pertinent information regarding experience and personal circumstances as they relate to systemic
barriers you have faced in your education and/or life, and
