However, if they were not able to graduate high school, they may opt to take the Alternative Learning System ( ALS ) and pass the Philippine Educational Placement Test ( PEPT ) to qualify for college; the availability of courses for PEPT passers depend on the university.  The students must pass the College Admissions Test of the university 1.6 Program Outcomes Graduates of Computer Engineering are expected to be able to:  Solve complex engineering problems using the application of mathematics and science knowledge  Conduct engineering procedures professionally and ethically  Understand and explain the significance of engineering solutions globally, economically, and environmentally  Use up to date techniques, skills, and engineering tools for computer engineering procedures  Apply engineering and management principles both as a member and a leader in a team 1.7 Career Opportunities Graduates of Computer Engineering may pursue a career path in various development and manufacturing companies or government agencies that needs specialized Computer Engineering services. They may apply for roles such as a software developer, test engineers, computer programmer, support specialist, robotics control systems engineer, electrical designer, quality assurance manager, and systems analyst.

  1. What are the "core competencies" expected of BS Computer Engineering graduates? According to the CHED Memorandum (CMO) No.87 series of 2017, with the ubiquity of computers, computer-based systems and network in the world today, computer engineers must be versatile in the knowledge drawn from the standard topics in computer science and electrical engineering as well as the foundation sin mathematics and sciences. Because of the rapid pace in the change in the computing field, computer engineers must be life-long learners to maintain their knowledge and skills within their chosen discipline. An important distinction should be made between
  1. Why computer engineering has no board exam? The usual reason why Computer Engineers don't have board exam was because the said course is technology dependent. As we all know, technology changes so fast right now that creating an exam based on its theories and laws (if there's such thing) would normally change as time passes by. This means that the facts and ideas 6 months ago maybe considered obsolete for the next examination. In order to resolve this, CoE (now declared as CpE) usually takes exam for certifications such as CCNA and Microsoft related certificates. But it doesn't mean nor guarantee that we can be called as Engineers.
  2. Is Computer Engineering a good career for the future? Computer engineers work for computer companies such as Intel, HP, and Texas Instruments, and also in industries that build or use computer-based systems, such as telecommunications, automotive, aerospace, etc. Many computer engineers also get jobs as programmers. While they have less programming experience than computer science graduates, their understanding of hardware gives them an advantage in dealing with overall systems
  3. Which top 10 highest paying engineering jobs of 2020? An engineer applies mathematical and scientific concepts to generate cost- effective solutions for technical issues. They take into account the functional requirements given by management and safety regulations mandated by the government to produce a final product. The job also calls for engineers to be highly involved during the testing and development stages of products to maximize their efficiency for customers. In this article, we discuss 10 of the highest-paid engineering jobs.
    1. Big Data Engineer
    2. Petroleum Engineer
    3. Computer Hardware Engineer
    4. Aerospace Engineer
    5. Nuclear Engineer
    6. Systems Engineer
    7. Chemical Engineer
    8. Electrical Engineer
