Comparison of EyeGaze, Cursor Keys, Positioning Controls, and Displays for Interaction, Slides of Human Resource Management

An overview of various interactive input devices and display technologies, including eyegaze systems that use eye gaze direction for control, cursor keys on a keyboard, discrete positioning controls in phones and tvs, and bitmap displays with different resolutions, colour depths, and anti-aliasing. The document also discusses the health hazards of cathode ray tube (crt) displays and offers health hints for safe usage.

large & situated displays

bitmap displays

• screen is vast number of coloured dots

anti-aliasing

Jaggies

  • diagonal lines that have discontinuities in due to horizontal raster scan process.

Anti-aliasing

  • softens edges by using shades of line colour
  • also used for text

Cathode ray tube

  • Stream of electrons emitted from electron gun, focused

and directed by magnetic fields, hit phosphor-coated screen which glows

  • used in TVs and computer monitors
