-When we write something that is honest you can share your real experiences
and ideas about something. You can use the right words to describe your
thoughts and feelings. Writing with honesty is like a domino effect, when you
use the right pattern in placing it, it will follow the other dominos.
HOW THE ATTENTION OF THE AUDIENCE CAN BE SEIZED INSTANTLY?
5 Types of Hooks to Grab Readers Attention:
1. Rhetorical questions
2. Provocative of strong statements
3. Shocking facts or statistics
4. Anecdote or personal experiences
5. Quotation

EDITORIAL WRITING

 Soul/ voice of the newspaper  Opinionated news story  Reconciliatory between contrary viewpoints  For the common good.  Crusading in its thrust  Influence public opinion  Must be convincing PERSUASIVE  Essay – an analytic, interpretative or critical composition  Analyzes the question / problem  It should have stand not neutral  Name the source (according to) (the department of education said that)  Defines your argument  Uses evidence / sources  Gives opinion in a logical way  Persuade the reader to agree with you. Topics Controversial Issue, Social political etc. affecting the populace, widely different perspectives, and confusing viewpoints. Writer’s Job:  Cannot be on both sides of the fence  Must ‘fight’ what is right  A winning argument / standpoint  Back up your argument with facts  Must change reader’s opinion.
