I. LANGUAGE–BASED APPROACH
1. Role playing
This activity is regarded as a form of experiential learning that enables students to become more
engaged in real-world situations, where students were acting out roles to explore a particular scenario.
This activity can help students improve their fluency in the target language, motivate them to speak and
interact with other students in the classroom, increase motivation, and make the learning process more
rewarding.
2. Group work
This activity is a great way to increase students' productivity and improve their critical thinking,
teamwork, and communication skills by working in groups to achieve a specific task. This is also a good
way to motivate students, stimulate active learning, and help them build their decision-making abilities.
II. PARAPHRASTIC APPROACH
1. Retelling a story with pictures and props
In this activity, the teacher will gather items, such as printed pictures from the text, puppets, or other
related props. After then, place the materials in front of the students and ask them to use the materials
to retell the story. This style of retelling is ideal for the class so that all students can participate actively.
2. Chain Story Telling
This is a popular activity that allows students to practice their storytelling skills. Students may have been
in a group and were afterwards telling a story using only one sentence and one word at a time, striving
to keep the story flowing smoothly. This activity encourages students to express their opinions and
feelings and increases their willingness to participate actively.
