Four problems related to fluid mechanics. The first problem is about a raft floating on a lake and asks to calculate the height of the portion of the raft above the water, the buoyant force on the raft, and the maximum number of people that can be on the raft without sinking. The second problem is about a T-shaped tube with a constriction inserted in a vessel containing a liquid and asks what happens if air is blown through the tube. The third problem is about the average speed of blood in the capillaries given the radius of the aorta and the total cross-section of all the capillaries. The fourth problem is about calculating the size of a heating duct to replenish the air in a room of a certain volume every 15 minutes.
