THE GEOGRAPHICAL IMPORTANCE OF THE PAKISTAN
The Pakistan is in the south Asia Region. It is located between 61 and 75.5 east and
between 24 and 35.5 North latitude on world map. Pakistan creates a connection between
south Asia and South west Asian Region. The total area of Pakistan is 803,940 Square
KMs. Pakistan has pleasant weather and climate. It has four seasons which make it ideal
strategic Land.
The Neighbor Countries:
In North-West side Pakistan share the border with
Afghanistan, which is almost 2,250KM long.
Pakistan has strategically important gateways to
connect with the neighbor countries. Khyber Pass
is strategically important because it connects
Pakistan to Afghanistan.
The bounder between Pakistan and Afghanistan
called Duran Line.
In North Pakistan has Hindu Kush and Pamirs mountains and Wakhan Corridor connect
Pakistan and Tajikistan. The corridor length is almost 16 to 27 KMs long.
In the East Pakistan shares the border with India the border length is almost 1650 KMs
and the historical name of the Line between border is called Radcliffe Line.
On the North side Pakistan Share border with China with area of almost 600KM and
Khunjrab Pass strategically connects china to Pakistan. The border between china and
Pakistan called Sino-Pak Border.
Pakistan shares its West border with Iran which is 900 KMs long. The strategically
important location between the west border is Koh-i-Tuftan.
The south border of Pakistan is strategically most important because on south Pakistan
Arabian Sea where Pakistan share its 700 KMs border. Karachi Port and Gwadar Port
are two main trade hubs are in the same border of Pakistan.

Russia and China always want to check the power of the region. Pakistan is strategically important for both countries. Due to importance of the location and Pakistan consider as the gateway of Central Asia the trade and Oil & Energy projects of central Asian countries and china also related to Pakistan for example CASA-1000, CPEC etc.

Pakistan also occupies the central location towards and control all the routes to central Asia and Muslim countries which makes Pakistan important country of the Muslim world. Moreover, Pakistan is only nuclear state of Islamic world, so Pakistan considered as more strategically important for the Islamic countries like Iran, Saudi Arab, Turkey etc.

Geo-Political Importance for US:

US always interested in the south Asian region due to Economically and politically factors. As Great power US want to gain maximum advantage from south Asian region as Pakistan is strategically and Politically on very ideal location for the US. The US always interested to know about economically strong China or Nuclear project of Iran and to Gain Indian market economic benefits. Moreover, US also use Pakistani soil to fight the war against terrorism in Afghanistan. Pakistan is also potential economic market for US.

Geo-Political and Economic Importance for China:

Pakistan is neighbor Country of China. The friendship between two countries makes a very good impact on the political environment of the Region. The Pakistan is very important for China economically and Politically as well. Pakistan’s land is quickest route for the china to access Arabian Sea which makes china economically and Strategically strong. The China support Pakistan in all aspect to make it strong because Pakistan can be potential asset for china against the rival US. The recent strategic economic route China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by china in Pakistan draw the attention of all the Great power towards Pakistan’s Ideal strategic location for trade and Many world powers want to join the project to gain benefits which increase the importance of Pakistan.

Geo-Political Importance for Russia:

The Pakistan’s Strategic location also important for Russia. The Russia interested in faster reinforcement capability in the region and eliminate the submarine-based threat from waters of the Indian and Arabian Sea, Moreover Russia is also interested to join the CPEC project by Pakistan and the China which will create the positive economic impact for the region.
