Discuss your library's selection of books and journals in different fields of health care and
science research. Is the library's selection of books and journals sufficient for student use in
your field of choice? If not, how could it be improved?
GCU offers a broad selection of books and journals in different fields of health care and
scientific research. You can use the databases at the library and the millions of journal articles
there for free (GCU Library, 2022). Google may ask you to pay for an article if you carry on
searching there, but here, you can limit and filter your search results in the library databases to
meet the needs of the assignment. Over 150,000+ eBooks are available for use 24 hours a day at
the library (GCU Library, 2022). In addition, there are reference librarians on staff who have
master's degrees and are available to answer any questions you may have. They have a lot of
experience researching topics. Allow them to assist you in selecting the ideal database and search
terms for your research question.

Your response was very insightful and there was a lot of things I agreed wit. One in particular
that stood out to me was when you talked about how teachers, peers, study aids, and a personal
library database are just a few of the many resources at Grand Canyon University. A large
number of books and journal articles that can be used for APA-style papers or that are geared
toward particular degrees are available in the GCU library database. I think it’s important for
people to remember that the GCU Library doesn't just hold STEM related research and articles,
but also many other topics not online and in person. You only need to allow them to help you
choose the best database and search terms for your research question because they have a lot of
experience researching topics.

because you went straight to the point and brought very valuable information to our discussion.
Something you brought up that I thought was spot on was where you talked about dissertations,
streaming video, and music being available, according to the GCU library, and how you are able
to use their vast array of databases and resources (GCU Library, 2022). You also brought up how
you can utilize RefWorks or EndNote Web, two tools for managing and organizing your
citations, which is something I didn't see others bring up. Scholarly sources significantly improve
the overall quality of your papers due to their level of authority and credibility and academic
course work typically includes the use of scholarly sources.
