Common situation of crime statistics towards the good and property about like burglary,
pickpocketing in Turkey, Italy and Russia.
An essential premise to do a comparison between Turkey, Italy and Russia is that we should
consider the different ways that the law sistems use to classify burglary or pickpocketing in these
countries. Most of the data from the European agency of Statistics “Eurostat” are taken from
information recorded or reported by the police. Comparison based on the absolute figures would be
misleading, since they are affected by many factors. For this reason the suggest of Eurostat is that
the comparisons should be based upon trends rather than upon levels.
Let me examine singularly all the national cases for have a more complete picture of the crime
statistics in these countries.
DEVELOPED COUNTRY: THE CASE OF ITALY

Burglary and muggings rose by 40 percent between 2010 and 2012
In Italy in 2010 were reported burglary 285.4 per 100 thousand inhabitants, as it puts this
country just above the average calculated on all Member States of the European Union (278.8 per
100 000 inhabitants). The robbery is the most frequent crime in Italy, it forms the 53,9% of all
crime's number in 2012. The storic evolution of robbery in Italy has a growing trend from 1985 to
1991, while in 2012 the robbery exceed the 4,1% respect the previous year. Currently the category
of bag snatching is fastly increasing after twenty years of decreasing, for which there was an
increasing of 13,3% than the previous year.
About robbery the trend for Italy is 62,641 of 100.000 inhabitants in 2012.
While according to Eurostat revelation the number of domestic burglary in Italy during 2010 is
171,269 of 100.000 inhabitants and increase to 240,846 of 100.000 inhabitants in 2012.

In Turkey between 2008 and 2012 the number of domestic burglary has become a growing trend,
passing from 69,792 to 113,772 of 100.000 inhabitants.
DEVELOPING COUNTRY: THE CASE OF RUSSIA

In the Russian Federation the amount of criminal statistics as robbery is decreasing from 2008 to
2012 by a number of 35.4 of 100.000 inhabitants to 18,6.
