With the first invention of the computer, people did not even think of how it might go far enough in the future, and now let us have a look at the modern world: technology is everywhere. The effects on our society can be described as fantastic as poor at the same time. On the one hand, we can face rapid technological improvements largely improved verbal exchange, accessibility for fostering international connection. Social media provided a platform for the greatest awareness and activism of our times, the issues of inequality, discrimination, and environmental problems now receive global attention. When the world was fighting COVID, education had to change its strategy and refocus on online studying, which went even more viral and expanded the opportunities for academic resources, structures, and alternatives more reachable not only for students but for all people. On the other hand, it caused even bigger digital division and inequalities, information overload, oversharing and misinformation, social isolation, disconnection from real- existence relationships, privacy and security concerns, mental health challenges, etc., thus it is the price for digital transformation. Now, we hardly can imagine it without using ChatGPT, which is slowly killing the critical thinking of young people, machines, that are doing the hard work, though creating fears about the market of labor, and the Internet network which unites billions of people around the world, but also is the reason for numerous cyber-attacks and the danger for people`s personal information. Many concerns appeared on the issue of rapid technological transformation, especially the possibility of losing a job for many people, which will influence the global economy. Machines are most likely to replace people in doing automated tasks, so in this way, the requirements and demands of workers rise: complex problem- solving, creativity, and emotional intelligence are less vulnerable to automation. John Chambers, the former executive chairman and CEO of Cisco, once said, “At least 40% of all businesses will die in the next 10 years… if they don’t figure out how to change their entire company to accommodate new technologies.”, and he had a point cause the most successful companies now adapt
to these changes and we see how AI reshaped logistics, chatbots improved customer experience, social media boosted the marketing strategies. The key is, of course, people who are ready to face these changes and develop a range of new skills: navigating digital tools, adaptations to the fast-paced work environment, analyzing data, trends and identity patterns, thinking outside the box and innovations, and of course the soft skills which can build strong relationships and foster teamwork. In summary, the impact of technological advancements and societal changes on our lives is profound, reshaping our jobs, workplaces, and the skills required to succeed in the modern economy. Adapting to these changes requires a proactive approach to learning, upskilling, and embracing new technologies and ways of working.
