1. Gestational Hypetension

  • (^) BP > 140/90mmHg after 20 weeks in previously normotensive women
  • (^) BP returns to normal <12 weeks postpartum
  • (^) No protenuria

4. Chronic Hypertension

  • (^) BP > 140/90 mmHg before pregnancy of diagnoses before 20 weeks age of gestation
  • (^) Hypertension first diagnosed after 20 weeks gestation and persistent after 12 weeks postpartum
  • (^) BP normally decreases during the second and early third trimester in both normotensive and chronic hypertensive women
  • (^) During third trimester blood pressure return to their originally hypertensive levels
