CINT 908 Homelessness in Canada
The Chang School of Continuing Education
The Idea Generator Template
This template consists of a note-taking chart (see next page) that is meant to facilitate your
learning throughout the semester. It will help you cumulate key elements from the readings and
audio-visual content in each module. You are expected to complete this template on a weekly
basis and will then submit it in Module 11 for a grade. Your completed template is worth 25% of
your course grade.
By filling out the Idea Generator Template, you will be able to compare individual factors,
structural factors and pathways to homelessness across modules while developing a good sense
of general and population-specific interventions and policies that can disrupt pathways to
housing precarity. This will help prepare you for your Intervention Strategy Checklist Tool
assignment (Activity 2) in Module 11.
You are encouraged to take notes within the template in a way that is conducive to your learning
(bullet points, sentences, diagrams, drawings, etc.). You are welcome to include additional
thoughts, insights, and visuals in the section titled “Additional Notes” at the end of the template.
The process of taking notes in whatever way works for you will enhance your learning in this
course and lead to a holistic picture of what it means to disrupt pathways to homelessness.
An example of what yourweekly notes shouldlook like was purposely not included in the chart
below. This is because there is no right or wrong way to fill out the table. Please see theIdea
Generator Rubric (on the Assignments page in Module 1) for the specific grading criteria.
