_1. International tourism has brought enormous benefit to many places. At the same time, there is concern about its impact on local inhabitants and the environment. Do the disadvantages of international tourism outweigh the advantages?
These days, many poorer countries are focusing their efforts on developing and promoting their tourism industries. There are some reasons for this, and I believe this can be a positive development, despite numerous drawbacks that can arise. Personally, I believe that the primay reason for developing tourism in a country is due to the economic benefits that it brings. A well-developed tourism industry creates a lot of new businesses and jobs for local people, and an influx of money from foreign tourists. In addition to this, promoting international tourism can help to improve international relations with other countries , and to share a country’s customs and culture with people all around the world. Many people these days are interested in learning about different cultures and ways of living, and tourism helps to facilitate this experience. However, there are a number of drawbacks that arise from the expansion of a country’s tourism industry. For example, in many countries in South East Asia, tourism has been a major cause of environmental pollution and destruction. For example, most tourists generally drink bottled water when on holiday, and this creates mountains of plastic waste every year. Many developing countries do not have appropriate recycling facilities and do not know how to deal with the waste, and therefore, it commonly ends up littered throughout the countryside, rivers, seas, beaches and oceans. Furthermore, the invasion of tourists into certain places can disrupt the local wildlife and ecosystems, causing further environmental damage. In conclusion, I would have to say that expanding the tourism industry in a country is a positive development if it is properly managed, and the environmental and cultural impacts are closely monitored and minimised. Overall, while teachers in Luxembourg were the most well-paid, teachers from Australia were the lowest-paid. In addition, the amount of time it took for a teacher in Denmark to earn the maximum salary was much faster than most other countries. Secondary and high school teachers in Luxembourg were paid a starting salary of $80,000 a year, while the figure for teachers in Denmark was significantly lower, at $45,000. Additionally, the starting salary for an inexperienced teacher in other countries stood at around $30,000. However, teachers with at least 15 years of experience in Luxembourg earned up to $119,000 a year, while teachers in Denmark and Japan with the same level of experience only made salaries of $54,000 and $65,000 respectively. Meanwhile, Australian and Korean teachers with at least 15 years’ experience were paid the lowest salaries, at
Estimated Band Score: 8. $48,000 a year. Also worth noting is that it only took teachers in Australia and Denmark less than 10 years to receive their maximum salary, while teachers in the other countries had to wait for at least 30 years. (191 từ)
Do you often watch TV? Yes. I’ve always been a technology enthusiast since day one. I remember going crazy over the color TV my parents bought 20 years ago and. Throughout my childhood, watching TV was a hobby that I did on a daily basis. These days, TV has lost its popularity, but I still watch it a few times a month. It reminds me of my childhood. What types of TV programs are popular in your country? I guess it depends on genders and ages. Kids love watching cartoons, men like news and sport channels while perhaps the ladies are more interested in reality shows. What (types of) programs did you watch as a child? Nothing other than cartoon. “Cartoon Network” and “Disney Channel” used to be my favorites. I still remember many of the theme songs of Disney movies. My mom hated seeing me in front of the screen, but I believe foreign cartoons help kids like me cultivate our language skills and learn about other cultures. Các chủ đề tương tự: Hobby. Những chủ đề trên có thể dùng cách diễn đạt chung là tôi là fan của những tiến bộ về công nghệ:
- I’m a techie person. - I’m a technology enthusiast. - I’m a fan of technological advances. Tell me about your hobby? I’m a fan of technological advances. Do you often use computers? Yes. I’m a technology enthusiast.
Describe a quiet place
Today I’m going to talk about a place I think is really quiet, which is the elevator. I know library or cafe will more likely to pop up in our mind when we are asked to name a quiet place, but have you ever thought about the fact that people rarely talk to each other in the elevator? Indeed, when three to four people are cramped into a confined area , human interactions are reduced to almost none and the awkward silence will continue until you exit. And that’s why I believe elevator is one of the quietest places on Earth. Speaking of why I think of the elevator, it was all thanks to a security guard. As I was walking my bike out of the office in the basement last week, I couldn’t find that security guard, who never left his spot, anywhere until the elevator bell rang “ding” and there he was. He walked out of the elevator with his guitar in his hands, grinning to me: “Yeah, sorry I went in to record some of my new songs. It’s so quiet and fully soundproof ”. He has a thing for music so that did not surprise me one bit, yet I still hope that he pays more attention to our bikes next time. But I guess I have to thank him and his mini studio for helping me coming up with this idea. That’s all I got.
Are there any other quiet places? There are plenty. Different places, like cafes or temples, are quiet because visitors respect others and keep silent as a common courtesy. Some places required people to remain silent., such as the library. Or some places are simply not usually surrounded by people, like most parks and gardens in the morning. Why do people like to spend time in quiet places? I guess the answer to this question varies. Some people find the absence of sound a perfect opportunity to focus on their work or study. That’s why libraries often become a popular hang-out spot before final weeks. Also, some introverted people love spending time in quiet cafes or parks where the tempo of life has slowed down a bit since these places give them great peace of mind. Why do some people dislike quiet places? Yeah there are many possibilities. Maybe some people are extroverts and enjoy crowded places as well as the exciting ambience. Others, on the other hand, might be afraid of quiet places because the lack of noise makes them feel lonely, which may lead to negative thoughts.
_1. In many nations, people in huge cities either live alone or in small family units, instead of a large, extended family. Is this a positive or negative trend?
In many large cities around the world, it has become common for people to either live alone or in a small family instead of living in large extended family households. This essay will take a closer look at some of the positive and negative aspects that arise with this trend. On the one hand, this trend does have some positive aspects. For example, different generations want and value different things these days. Many young people do not wish to live the traditional lifestyles of their parents and grandparents. Therefore, living alone allows them the freedom to do as they please without having to face constant judgement or criticism. Furthermore, many older people do not wish to live the hectic, fast-paced lifestyle of modern city life and prefer to live a slower-paced, healthier life in the countryside during their retirement. Living alone, or in smaller family groups allows each generation to live their preferred lifestyle. However, this trend also brings several drawbacks. Firstly, as parents and grandparents get older, they may face a number of physical and mental health problems , and by living alone, they may lack the care and attention they need from their children .(1)^ Secondly, children will have less interaction and influence from grandparents, and potentially miss out on important life lessons from grandparents who have a lot of valuable life experience .(2)^ Important traditions and customs may also be lost from generation to generation. Finally, living alone, or in small family groups can lead to poor family bonds between generations. In conclusion, I believe that while this trend does bring some benefits, overall they are definitely outweighed by the drawbacks. (278 từ)
