The picture below gives information about the total figures of

UK telephone calls by category from 1995 to 2002.

In general, it is clear that there was a significant change in all 3

categories which are local-fixed line, national and international-

fixed line and mobiles. The difference in minutes among 3 type

of telephone call gradually shortened from 1995 to 2002.

In all three categories, the local- fixed line had more

fluctuations than the others. It rose gradually by approximately

20 billions from 1995 and then reached a peak of 90 billions in

1999. Although it witnessed a decline of 20 billions in the next 3

years and returned to the old figure of 1995, it still was the

most popular in UK telephone calls in 2002.

The national and international-fixed line and the mobiles had

the same progress from 1995 to 2002. Their figures increased

sharply over 50% in 7 years. The mobiles climbed more

dramatically from 3 billions to 46 billions, while the national

and international fixed line grew significantly by 24 billions.
