1. What inspired you to start your journey as an entrepreneur?
- I started my career at an MNC in 2001 and always had the passion
to build my own company after seeing how large organizations grow
and operate. Over time, I gained knowledge, experience, and strong
professional networks. During conversations with country managers,
I noticed they all shared one common thought: they wanted to start
something of their own but felt it was too late in their careers. This
made me realize it was now or never, and I decided to pursue my
dream.
- With that being said, I started my own company back in 2014 as my
side hustle, which turned into my main focus in 2017, and after that,
my life changed completely.
2. In your experience, what are the key advantages of being an
entrepreneur?
- Being an entrepreneur gives you the freedom to make decisions on
your own. In my case, building a logistics company has allowed me
to create something that directly supports Bangladesh’s economy. I
also got the opportunity to solve real-life problems, along with
addressing the employment problem in Bangladesh.
3. What challenges did you face in your entrepreneurial journey?
- The logistics sector in Bangladesh is highly competitive and often
affected by corruption. Building trust with international clients was
difficult at the start. Operational challenges like customs delays and
regulatory changes also create problems. Employee retention is
another major issue, as workers often switch companies for better
incentives. However, I continue to face these challenges and focus
on how I tackle them.
4. What advice would you give to the next generation of Gen Z
entrepreneurs?
First rule of life: start small but aim big. Don’t wait for the right
moment or situation. Focus on gaining knowledge and
understanding the market properly. Bangladesh offers many
opportunities, and the market is very dynamic, so plan your journey
from start to finish accordingly. Your network also matters, as the
people around you will be a key driving force. Lastly, don’t give up
and stay committed to your plan and dream.
