Deforestation, also known as forest clearance, is the removal of a forest or stand of trees from land that is then converted to non-forest use. Deforestation is the deliberate thinning of forests. Forests have been cleared throughout history and into the present era to make room for agriculture and animal grazing as well as to obtain wood for fuel, manufacture, and construction. Tropical rainforests are currently undergoing the highest amount of destruction due to the construction of huge roads into formerly virtually inaccessible areas. Tropical deforestation is largely attributed to slash- and-burn agriculture. In order to enrich the soil for crops, farmers use this agricultural practice to burn enormous tracts of forest. However, the land is only productive for a short while before the farmers leave to carry on their work elsewhere. Tropical forests are also cleared to make way for logging, cattle ranching, and oil palm and rubber tree plantations.
Deforestation plays a vital role in environmental allegations whether it would benefit the infrastructural society or ruin it. Here in the Philippines, the total area of primary humid forest shrunk by 4.0% over this time. Although deforestation harms society's environment, some have found methods to exploit it to their benefit, such as using it as a source of income. Right now, resources obtained through deforestation techniques aid in generating income. Regarding its drawbacks, it alters the composition of our atmosphere. The way that carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is handled alters when trees are cut down quickly.
An action plan is needed to help mitigate the society’s abundant production of deforestation. By consuming less, starting beneficial environmental activities such as tree planting, avoiding single-use packaging, eating sustainable food, and choosing recycled or responsibly-produced wood products, we can all be part of the movement to protect forests.
