__ Duration_ : 5-7 minutes of presentation.

__ Form of the sharing_ : free style, at least 2 presenters, but all members should show up to get the evaluation of “Participation” (2.5%), and the group’s name should be introduced.

__ Date of presentation_ : The group’s leader needs to send email or directly register their group- sharing’s topic to the instructor. There are 12 topics’ questions available: first come, first serve!

GROUP ASSIGNMENT NO.2: OB CASE ANALYSIS (15%)

General requirement: the group is required to curate an OB case, then practice critical thinking by using “Point and Counter-point” analysis an OB case, and present it in class.

  • Search or make a 5-6 minutes video clip for a practical case, to illustrate for at least 3 concepts or theories in the OB course, so called an OB case.

Learning outcomes of this assignment: after this group assignment, the students will be able to…

  • L.O.2, and/or L.O.3, and/or L.O.4: Understand, apply and analyze behavioral processes at either Individual, Group, or Organizational levels, depending on the OB case presented;
  • L.O.5: Demonstrate oral & writing skills on topics of organizational behavior, through group presentation and essay report, and also teamworking skills.

There are TWO primary parts of this Assignment:

1. Oral Presentation (50% of Group assignment) - Tell the video OB case - Point and counter-point analysis (8-10 minutes): - Point: analyze the clip based on the concepts/theories in OB course - Counter-point: present at least a different view on at least 01 of these concepts/theories - Duration for each presentation: 15-20 minutes, each extra minute will be a minus. - Date of presentation : the two last sessions of this course. - Evaluation rubrics :

Counter point = A different view from the Point above, with elaboration to persuade the audience. This can be based on your own view or referred to others’ arguments that you find it relevant. This will NOT be judged for right or wrong, just ANOTHER point of view on the same thing. Let’s practice “putting yourself in the other shoes” for more balance discussion.

This is about how you can IMPROVE your behaviors, your study, your life thanks to lessons learned from this case. These are collective ideas from your group, but no need to get total agreement among group members as you are individual differences. So, if there is an argument, just discuss about it.

Comprehensive and length of writing

= comprehensive to the readers, K.I.S.S. principles: Keep It Short and Simple

  • Length : 5 to 7 pages, excluding cover page, title/content table page, references (compulsory), appendices and acknowledgement pages (if yes).
  • On the Cover page :
    • Name of the group
    • The key words (concepts, theories) to be analyzed in the report
    • Full name list of the group members, with respective ID numbers
    • Contact of the group leader (email, phone number)
    • Individual role in the group’s work, and % of relative contributions among group members if there is a difference (read Notices below) This is about your writing skill and structure of the report.

Notices:

  • Group can suggest % contribution of each member in the assignment, in which those members get 100% contribution will receive the group marks. The less contributors will receive weighted marks as suggested by the group. The group leader takes responsibility of this agreement in the group.
  • Please make sure you do NOT cheat or plagiarize the report. Plagiarism will be penalized from 50% to 100% of the group’s grade , depending on the extent of copying.
  • All members are required to appear in the group presentation, however, do not need to present all.
