Introduction Aim and objectives Problem statement Interference sources Interference management techniques Types of mobile communication networks Interference management in different types of mobile communication networks Conclusion Outline
Aim and Objective Effective interference management is essential for ensuring reliable and efficient mobile communication Our aim is to minimize the problems of interference in mobile systems in other words to reduce interference to the minimum in the current and future mobile communication networks.
Interference management in mobile communication networks Problem statement Interference can degrade the quality of service (QoS) for mobile users, leading to dropped calls, slow data rates, and reduced network capacity , we focus how we can manage interference in the mobile system , we will show how interference in mobile systems happens and the reasons for it.
Radio frequency interference (RFI) Atmospheric interference (e.g. from lightning or solar flares) Co-channel interference (CCI) From other wireless systems or electronic devices. Cells Using The Same Frequency Cause interference to Each Other. Occurs when signals from neighboring channels interfere with each other Adjacent channel interference (ACI) Inter-symbol interference (ISI) Occurs when the signal from one symbol overlaps with the signal from the next symbol, causing distortion in the received signal. Interference sources (cont. )
Power control : Adjusting the transmission power of a mobile device or base station to minimize interference levels. This technique can be used to balance the trade-off between maximizing signal strength and minimizing interference. Frequency reuse : Using the same frequency band in different geographical areas with appropriate frequency planning
Interference management techniques
Spectrum sensing and cognitive radio : Using cognitive radio technology to sense the unused frequency bands and utilize them for communication to minimize interference levels. Network planning and optimization: Planning and optimizing the network to reduce interference levels by optimizing cell size, antenna placement, frequency allocation, and power control. Interference management techniques
Types of mobile communication networks
Interference management is a critical issue for mobile communication networks, affecting the quality of service and network capacity. Effective interference management techniques, such as power control, frequency reuse, and adaptive modulation and coding, can be used to mitigate the effects of interference. As mobile communication networks continue to evolve, new challenges and opportunities will emerge for interference management, and new techniques such as machine learning and dynamic spectrum access will be developed to address these challenges.
