Five international agreements aimed at protecting the world's cultural and natural heritage, migratory species, biodiversity, endangered species, and the ozone layer. The agreements include the convention concerning the protection of the world cultural and natural heritage (1972, 1975), the convention on the conservation of migratory species of wild animals (1979, 1983), the convention on biological diversity (1992, 1993), the convention on international trade in endangered species of wild fauna and flora (1973, 1987), and the vienna convention for the protection of the ozone layer and montreal protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer (1985). Each agreement outlines the role of states in protecting and conserving the respective heritage, species, or layer, and provides international cooperation and aid to achieve these goals.
