Simulation in Statistical Physics Homework (M.Phil. Physics, 3rd Semester), Exercises of Statistical Physics

The homework assignment for the course simulation in statistical physics in the third semester of the m.phil. Physics program. The assignment includes running computer programs for ising models and generating graphs for various analyses, such as energy versus time and temperature, magnetization versus time, and average energy and magnetization per atom versus temperature. Students are required to compare their results with figures shown in slides.

Home Work # 3
Due Date: One week from today
Computer programs for ISING Models are given in work directory. Run these programs
using suitable number of bins and numbers of lattice sites to get following graphs:
(1) Compute the energy versus time (or MC steps) for one-D Ising model. Then plot
it and compare with results shown in slides.
(2) Compute energy of the system versus temperature for one-D model and compare
with the results shown in slides.
(3) For a two-Dimensional (say 6 x 6) Ising model draw magnetization versus time at
three different temperatures and compare results with figures shown in slides.
(4) For a two-Dimensional (say 6 x 6) Ising model draw magnetization versus time at
three different temperatures (say at T = 1.5, T = 2.25 and T = 3.2) and compare
results with figures shown in slides.
(5) For a two-Dimensional (say 6 x 6) Ising model draw average energy per atom &
average magnetization per atom as a function of temperature and compare
results with figures shown in slides.
