Shahadah
‘There is no god but allah and muhammad is his messenger (and ali is the friend of god)
‘
‘And My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the
religious duties I have obligated upon him’ - duties + festivals
‘Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is
wrong, and believing in Allah’ - amr bill maroof + nahi anil munkar
‘Truly Allah loves those who abstain from evil and stay pure’
‘Whoever amongst you sees an evil, he must change it with his hand. If he is not able to do
so, then with his tongue’
Zakah
‘Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and needy’
‘Of the good that they do, nothing will be rejected of them’
‘And to every soul will be paid in full the fruit of its deeds and Allah knows what they do’
‘Those who spend their wealth in Allah’s cause are like grains of corn which produce seven
ears, each bearing a hundred grains’
‘The one who looks after and works for a poor person is like a warrior fighting for god’s
cause’
Khums
‘Know that whatever of a thing you acquire, a fifth of it is for Allah, for the messenger, for the
near relative, and the orphans, for the needy and the wayfarer’
Sadaqah
‘Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire’
Salah
‘Prayer is the key to paradise’ - first question on day of judgement
‘ i created mankind to worship me’
‘Call upon me and i will answer you’ - dua
‘Prayer keeps one from the great sins and evil deeds’
‘When the call to prayer is made on the day of congregation, hurry towards the reminder of
god and leave off your trading’
‘Prostrate and draw nearer to god’
‘Woe to those who pray but pray only to be seen by others’
‘Thw whole earth has been made a place of worship
‘Whoever misses three Jummahs out of neglect, Allah will place a seal upon his heart’
‘ We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased’ (facing macca)
Sawm
‘Fasting is prescribed for you’
It was in the month of ramadan that the Qur’an was revealed’
‘Fast until night fall’
‘decreed upon you is fasting so that you may become righteous’
‘Bring to mind your hunger and thirst in Ramadan , the hunger and thirst of judgement day’
Hajj
‘Pilgrimage to the house is a duty owed to God by those who are able to undertake it’
‘Whoever performs Hajj for Allah’s pleasure, he will return as if he was born anew, free from
sin’
Tawaf - ‘here i am oh lord, at your service. Praise and blessings to you’
Wudu
‘Believers! When you stand up for prayer, wash your faces and your hands and your feet’
‘Clealiness is half of faith’ - muhammad
‘Wudu is a divine order.. So allah may know who obeys and disobeys him’ - shia
Lesser jihad
‘Slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turne on you’
‘Verily Allah say those against whom war is made, permission is given to fight because they
are wrong’
‘Fight in the cause of allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits, for allah loveth
not the transgressors’
‘Whoever takes a life - unless as a punishment for murder or mischief in the land - it will be
as if they killed all of humanity’
Greater jihad
‘The strongest among among you is not the one who can defeat another in fighting but the
one that cab control his anger’ - sunnah
There is a reward for kindness shown to every living animal and human’ - al bukhari
Id ul fitr
‘ you should complete the number of days and glorify Allah for guiding you’
It was in the month of Ramadan that the Qur'an was revealed for mankind…so any of you
who are present that month should fast"
Id ul adha
‘And we ransomed him with a great sacrifice’
