Preparation of the spinach
During this time, I pick off the leaves of spinach or kangkong. As you can see,
the nodes of this spinach are the starting point of sprouts. So, I make sure
that I cannot damage or include the nodes of the spinach because this we will
make its roots grow. After I pick off the leaves, I put the spinach in a plastic
cup with water.
Title: Small Space Gardening or Bottle Container Gardening
Overview of the Activity or Task
Planting spinach or kangkong from cuttings is the focus of this
activity/task. This task is crucial because if my plant grows, we will use it as
an ingredient in dishes such as sinigang or adobong kangkong. When I
completed this task, I felt a sense of accomplishment and happiness
because it meant I could grow a plant. Throughout this activity, I will
demonstrate what happens when I plant a kangkong from cuttings and how it
starts growing after a few days/weeks.
Observations and Insights
Day 1 (March 28)
Day 3 (March 31)
After two days, I notice that the spinach has formed small roots.
Day 8 (April 05)
After five days, here is how my spinach looks, and we can see that it is
starting to sprout leaves and roots.
Day 18 (April 15)
After ten days, this is the view of my spinach, and I notice that my
spinach leaves are becoming lush. As a result, I transplant it into the soil.

Day 18 (April 15) After ten days, this is the view of my spinach, and I notice that my spinach leaves are becoming lush. As a result, I transplant it into the soil.

As you can see, my companion and I turned a water bottle into a plantation, and we perforated the bottle's body to insert the spinach stems. We then covered it with soil to allow the spinach roots to cling to it. Then we repeat the process again until the bottle container is full. Day 20 (April 17) After the first two days, we placed the container in the basin and then filled it with water to avoid shocking the container's roots in the soil. I also observed that the leaves were expanding, and the stems were lengthening.
