    • (^) ICBM is a guided ballistic missile designed for nuclear weapon delivery.

  • (^) July 20, 1969 - (^) John Glenn was 1st^ American to orbit Earth. - (^) Saturn V (powerful rocket) launched 3 astronauts on the eagle into orbit: Neil Armstrong, Edwin “BUZZ” Aldrin, Michael Collins known as the APOLLO MISSION. - (^) Armstrong was the 1st^ man to land on the MOON. “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
  • (^) Thanks to SPACE RACE - (^) Helped the future with TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS LIKE THE FOLLOWING: - (^) SATELLITES: transmit radio, TV, & phone signals that led to creation of wireless headsets and other devices. - (^) POWER: Battery and Solar Cell Technology became advanced. - (^) OTHER INVENTIONS: Water Filters, Insulation, Flame resistant fabrics, CAT Scanners, Memory Foam, and new rubber produced used on Hiking and Running Shoes. - (^) etc
  • (^) Cuban Missile Crisis - October 1962, US Intelligence learned that soviets had placed long range nuclear missiles in Cuba. - Kennedy ordered naval quarantine to stop deliveries and existing sites dismantled that contributed to America’s fear of Nuclear War. - Secret negotiations were made for US to respect Cuba’s territory and for the US to take out their missiles from Turkey toward the end of October.

  • (^) Election of 1964: - November 22, 1963, was fatally shot in Dallas, TX by Accused killed Lee Harvey Oswald. ( who was later killed 2 days after in custody) - Launched an “ unconditional war on poverty in America. - Passed Economic Opportunity act in 1964 to focus on public services, illiteracy, and unemployment created 10 new programs. - Johnson won in a landslide because Republican candidate Barry Goldwater seemed too Aggressive.
